The crew on the Antares watches horrified as Zoe walks away from the Lander, drawn across the blazing face of Venus by the sound of a baby’s cry. 12. Venus
No release date yet
Only hours from Zoe’s perilous landing, Paula, with Wassenfelder on camera, broadcasts to Earth, explaining that, with a temperature at four hundred and sixty degrees centigrade, air pressure ninety three times that of Earth, and a carbon dioxide atmosphere, human time on the planet is limited to twenty minutes. Like bridesmaids in attendance, Nadia and Jen help Zoe into the bulky EVA suit. Donner is garbed into his pressure suit by Ted and makes his final preparations to pilot the Lander to Venus.
11. Solitary
No release date yet
With Beta and Gamma sounding an unearthly duet between the Antares and Venus, the crew confronts loneliness and isolation – each in their own way. In flashbacks to the Ascan training process, Rollie helps Jen overcome her fear of the sensory deprivation tank, while the normally composed Nadia fights her own issues with the isolation experience. Donner tries desperately to perfect the planetary landing, driven by his terror of repeating the Mars disaster and the fear of losing Zoe. Nadia finally comes face to face with her hallucination, the resulting shock finally cracking her icy composure and sending her to Donner for comfort.
10. Deja Vu
No release date yet
The revelation of Beta is affecting the crew in various ways: Nadia balks at piloting the ship until she knows exactly what the strange force represents; Paula sees the object as a sign from God and shares her religious epiphany in the middle of a broadcast; Jen is distraught because she alone cannot see or hear Beta; and Wassenfelder is completely in his element, thrilled to be heading towards the heart of the mystery. Donner does not want Paula to pilot the Venus Lander and is worried about Zoe’s upcoming walk on the scorching planet, the specter of the failed Mars mission still haunting him.
9. Eve Ate the Apple

Entranced by a haunting song, the Antares crew is inexorably drawn to storage Pod 4 where the otherworldly Beta object revolves in an astonishing fractal dance. In Mission Control, Ajay and Arnel also see the strange object for the first time as Goss announces that they are now all sworn to secrecy about the real nature of the space mission. Ted struggles to take in the fact that Eve has known the truth all along. Eve recounts her long-ago experience as a young archeologist in Peru, when the Beta object was first uncovered from deep in the Earth, rising to meet her with a sound only she could hear. Meanwhile, Paula is shaken to the core of her religious convictions, Rollie confesses to Jen that he was also in on the secret of Beta, and Wassenfelder is delighted to learn the revealed language of the universe.
