Returning from Thanksgiving break, the cast of "High School Musical: The Musical" receives devastating news about their school theater. To everyone’s relief, Carlos steps up and saves the day by securing a new location. However, the new venue quickly dredges up bad memories for Miss Jenn and leads her to believe the place is cursed. Meanwhile, Nini tells Kourtney about possibly applying for a drama academy in Colorado. Will their close friendship be reduced to a far-away friendship? And what’s going on with Nini and Ricky, now that the two have found themselves a quiet place to rehearse backstage, all alone? Grab a plate – and a microphone! You’re invited to Thanksgiving dinner at Ashlyn’s house in this special sing-along episode! The whole cast comes together to feast and be thankful. For Ricky, the drama of his parent’s recent divorce has really brought him down, so Gina convinces Ricky to go to the party with her to get his mind off of it all. For Carlos, this night is the perfect occasion to try out his hilariously complicated homemade High School Musical board game. The game eventually forces EJ and Ricky to go face-to-face in the infamous Sharpay and Ryan warm-up exercise. But the warm-up cools off fast when Gina gets a phone call from her mom with unsettling news. Meanwhile, back at East High, Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazzara spend Thanksgiving working on their projects, both clearly avoiding Thanksgiving with their own families and forming an unexpected bond. Sparks will fly, literally.

Wildcats always say “the show must go on,” but that won’t be easy now that East High’s principal has placed Miss Jenn on a 24-hour leave as the school board investigates accusations made against her. In her temporary absence, Carlos is put in charge of the production’s rehearsals. While running through the song "When There Was Me and You,” Carlos accidentally lets it slip that Miss Jenn could lose her job – and the reason why. As the Miss Jenn scandal unfolds, EJ and Nini finally have a heart-to-heart about where they stand. In a final attempt to save the show, the cast convenes in Big Red’s basement for a sit-down talk about Miss Jenn. Can they pull together a showstopper without their fearless leader?
5. Homecoming: The Sing-Along

Are the Wildcats all-in for the Homecoming Dance? Some are, others, not so much! Carlos is in and he’s stepped up to ask someone very special. Nini, on the other hand, is officially OVER the boy drama, so she and Kourtney decide to ditch Homecoming for a much-needed girls’ night out. Ricky is in, but once at the dance, he’s is stunned to see who’s shown up with EJ. Meanwhile, Nini and Kourtney find themselves at a local karaoke night where Nini reluctantly sings “Born to Be Brave,” thanks to a ton of girl-power encouragement from Kourtney and some backing vocals from you at home as you sing along to this episode's on-screen lyrics! Back at Homecoming, Carlos thinks his date has officially stood him up but is reassured by a comforting pep talk from an unlikely supporter. As the night goes on, more surprises are in store – even for Miss Jenn.

In the midst of the fallout, EJ steps in to rehearse as Troy on a day when Ricky is running late. Reading between the lines, Gina comes to EJ with a scheme to take the part of Gabriella away from Nini. Meanwhile, Ricky's parents drop a devastating bombshell. Leaving the house in a fit of anger and desperate for a friend, Ricky winds up at Nini’s house. In this sing-along episode, maybe everyone's stars are about to realign!

East High’s winter production is having a few trust issues. EJ discovers the video of Nini singing "I Think I Kind Of, You Know" to Ricky, then he finds a heartfelt voicemail from Ricky which he impulsively deletes. Meanwhile, Nini misses an important rehearsal. Suspecting Gina as the source of her troubles, Nini cooks up a retaliation plan to keep Gina off balance. During rehearsal, EJ lets it slip to Ricky that he knows about the voicemail and warns Ricky to stay away from Nini. To add to the messy mix, Mr. Mazzara confronts Miss Jenn about her past. Dramatic tension is running high as rehearsals kick off and the cast of "High School Musical: the Musical" needs to get their heads in the game. With Ricky now playing the part of Troy, Nini is doing whatever it takes to ensure he doesn't find his way back into her heart. Feeling the friction between the cast, Miss Jenn makes an executive decision to squash the rehearsal drama and cut right to a pivotal scene. Meanwhile, reeling from not getting the lead and suspicious of Ricky’s intentions, EJ. hatches a plan to snoop behind the scenes and get inside Nini’s head. During a break from rehearsals, Nini and Ashlyn share a moment at the piano performing the new, original song Ashlyn wrote, called "Wondering." That's your cue to sing along! And will her dreamy new boyfriend EJ help her put ex-boyfriend Ricky in the rearview? Meanwhile, Ricky is looking for his own reset after realizing what a fail it was to "take a break" from his relationship with Nini over the summer.
