Parijs 1887. In die tijd was duelleren de enige manier om je eer te verdedigen. Clément Lacaze, een charismatische schermmeester, raakt verstrikt in een spiraal van destructief geweld. Hij ontmoet Marie-Rose Astié, een feministe die haar tijd ver vooruit is, en besluit haar de complexe kunst van het duelleren te leren.
