Richard goes to prison for his financial misdeeds while cohort Michael Sharpe escapes. Angela hires a private detective to tail Pilar and a battered Emma seeks refuge at the mansion. Richard's attempt to win back his estranged wife has tragic results.

The Channings gather for Maggie's funeral, and a handcuffed Richard reconciles with his mother. Sharpe plots revenge as Richard's testimony destroys his life. Angela postpones her Greek trip to deal with Emma's vicious lover, con artist Charles St. James, who retaliates with lethal force.

A devastated Sharpe kicks Danny out and confides in his sister, who remains ambivalent about Richard's proposal. Lance and Pilar discover Angela's awake, missing and forming new alliances to wrest her empire out of Richard's control.

When Lauren tells Danny and Richard the truth, Danny remains loyal to Michael but both men reject him as a son, an outcome that delights Angela since it makes Lauren reconsider her decision to marry Richard. As it becomes clear that his hostile parents have made him an outsider in the valley, Danny becomes increasingly desperate.

Sharpe's hatred of Richard soon overrides their truce and he plots with Angela to stop his sister's wedding to his mortal enemy. As trouble mounts for Richard, Lauren tries to convince him to sell Falcon Crest back to Angela and concentrate on their marriage. Michael reveals a final secret to Danny. Series finale.
